The Literary Drover No. 5056

I am not a member of The Stimulation Nation.

I do not use Disqus, Facebook, or Twitter. I do not have a Pinterest, Instagram, or YouTube account.

My Social Media presence only takes the form of a blog.

I am not defined by Social Media. I define Social Media.

What say you?

The Literary Drover No. 5010

The Culture of Violence that now exists in the State of Colorado, the United States of America, and around the world was born of Social Media, specifically Disqus, Facebook, and Twitter.

If you want to end The Culture of Violence you must take action, you must make a choice, you must make a decision RIGHT NOW: Stop using Disqus, Facebook, and Twitter IMMEDIATELY.

If you choose to use Disqus, Facebook, and Twitter you condone and contribute to The Culture of Violence that threatens civilization and the future of the human race, manifested as explicit obscenity and threat published to these Social Media platforms. If you choose to use Disqus, Facebook, and Twitter you are just as responsible as the person or persons who kill people in a bar, a nightclub, or at a county fair.

David A. Steinberg (Zeta Global) of Disqus, Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook, Jack Dorsey of Twitter, and every employee of these companies profit from death, murder, and mayhem.

Bring The Culture of Violence to an end. Stop using Disqus, Facebook, and Twitter RIGHT NOW.

And . . . I don’t use Twitter. Do YOU:

The Literary Drover No. 4508

Day Eleven of Life without Twitter, and it is wonderful! Grand! Outstanding!

How is your life going? Still using Twitter? Still having sleepless nights and unable to focus and concentrate?

The Literary Drover No. 4502

Day ten of life after Twitter, and not a moment too soon because it seems that Twitter is now suspending and terminating the accounts of individuals who served and serve in the United States Armed Forces. Specifically those men and women who dare criticize the former President of the United States of America, Barack Obama.

On a more personal note the time otherwise committed to Twitter was given over to hiking and enjoying the coming colors of Fall in the Rocky Mountains where I saw three bull elks and more than three dozen cow elk. The bulls each had twelve points on their racks and their bugling floated through the high altitude, into the coming night.

If you have stopped using Twitter and found other things to do with the time squandered on Twitter, please let me know.

Day Nine without Twitter in my life and the accomplishments keep on happening:

  1. Read twenty pages of a book that had been collecting dust on the headboard of my bed.
  2. Listened, uninterrupted, to the music of Yo-Yo Ma. (YO-YO MA PLAYS BACH.)
  3. Went for a hike and saw a bear.
  4. Slept an extra thirty minutes.
  5. Learned ten words of a new language.

Consider the opportunities that await you if you STOP USING TWITTER!

Day Eight without Twitter in my life and I find that I do not have an extra hour in my life. I have more than two extra hours in my life. I find pleasure and satisfaction in my efforts and activities because Twitter is not part of my life.

Can you say the same? If not, perhaps it is time to remove Twitter from your life.

The Literary Drover No. 4488

Day Seven without Twitter in my life and the To-Do has gotten shorter because I have had more time to accomplish tasks that matter.

Can you say the same? If not, STOP USING TWITTER RIGHT NOW!

The Literary Drover No. 4484

I am not “taking a break”. There is no ‘time out’. I stopped posting to Facebook several years ago. Period.

Day Six without Twitter is a productive and rewarding day! The time lost to Twitter is now being put to use in wonderful and exciting ways!

The Literary Drover No. 4476

Day Five, and my life is Twitter-free! My life is much better for not having Twitter in it!

Can you say the same for your life?
