The Literary Drover No. 504

A recent experience involving an employee of one of the top five talent agencies in Hollywood has led to a certain and undeniable conclusion: Bigger is not better. Bigger does not mean quality. Bigger does not equate to or euphemistically ensure professionalism or competency.

I will not bore you with the sordid details of this experience. Instead, allow me to offer some advice: If you want to succeed as a Writer or a screenwriter pursue the services of an agent who wants to genuinely work on your behalf. That may mean an agent who works for a smaller talent agency and not a high-paid bubblehead who gets lost in CostCo on a regular basis.
